So I was reading a story on my radio show this morning about how 90% of men think their wives are natural beauties. Which sounds really sweet and maybe they do, but the story was about the beauty treatments we do and keep a SECRET from our significant others and friends. As much as I think you shouldn't have to keep that stuff secret, a little mystery never hurt anyone. Have you ever said when complimented on a new dress "this old thing"? You know what I'm talking about.
The list of "secrets", which I do ALL of them, included lots of things like using sunless tanner, coloring your hair, whitening your teeth, plucking your eyebrows and on top of this list....bleaching/waxing your facial hair. That one, becomes a bit more of a reality once we have children and get older thanks to our lovely hormones. But you don't have to walk around stroking the hair on your chinny chin chin or sneak your husband's razor when he's not looking . (Gasp!) Don't do that! Put the razor down when it comes to your face.
Here are a few ways to tackle those pesky little hairs...
Bleaching: This is one of the easiest methods and best for someone with very light peach fuzz. You can do it at home. A recommend Sally Hansen's kit. It retails for around $5.99. You can do this in under 10 minutes.
Cream Hair Remover: This is my choice. I am not a hairy person but I'm a brunette. Wait I mean "natural" red head. This is also very easy. You put it on, wait a few minutes and then wipe it off with a warm wet washcloth and you're done. It lasts for weeks too and it's painless. Again, Sally Hansen for about $6.99.
Waxing: This freaks some women out. Yes it hurts, but only for a second. It's a great option though because it pulls the hair from the root so the regrowth time is longer. If you choose to do it yourself, there are lots of kits out there. Read the directions and be careful! What's worse than a mustache? Bright red burned skin with patches of peach fuzz. If you are at all apprehensive, go see a professional. It's an affordable option. Kits at the store start around $5.99
Laser Hair Removal: A more expensive option for sure but it's permanent! I guess you can look at it like paying up front for what you would have paid for over time for another option. It may take a few sessions but it lasts forever. What is does is it destroys the part of the follicle that actually produces the hair.
Whichever method you choose, read the directions carefully. You don't want to do anything that might harm the beautiful skin on your face. And it really is okay to keep some of your beauty routine a secret. I always tend to admit to all of the things I do. I like to share but I'm figuring you've noticed that by now.
Have a beautiful night!
